What's the reason for choosing VBA ? I mean, use this emu myself, but is it the speed, compatibility, or other reasons for choosing to port this and not other GBA emulators? I'm just curious.

Portability of the sourcecode and I am not aware of any other portable GBA emulators.

It seems to be portable and free. It was written by a french, Julien 'Gollum' Frelat.

Its portable, but according to what I can find on the website its not opensource and wouldnt be any better than VBA according to someones post about porting it to the Ngage.
