CHECK OUT THE CHEAPASSGAMER THREAD FOR THE UP-TO-DATE NEWS!!
The Sega Saturn GameCase/DVD conversion topic seems to be pretty much dead for the most part so I've decided to create a fresh new topic that I can manage. One thing that has always bothered me about these DVD case making threads is that they usually arent consistant and usually die off after making 10 cases. Therefore, I've decided to assemble a team, where we can create these cases and once all of them are completed and the project is closed, we can make it available to the general public with a mass upload onto Snackbar's new site : The Cover Project
I've created 7 covers already, and have decided to use them as a template for the rest. I also have game company art books, a high priced scanner, a collection of Sega Saturn Magazines from Europe and over 500 Sega Saturn Covers in a box I bought off eBay to scan. This project is ready for sure.
I'm tired of seeing these cover projects go down the tubes, and I'd like to get this one back up and rolling. I love the Saturn, and I want to see DVD covers, instead of broken game cases... I'm looking for a team of like minded individuals with minor photoshop capabilities and wanting a sense of accomplishment.
Here's the gameplan, I will give all team members a copy of the template, locations to load the finished work, and a collection of high rez scans that I have. I'll scan the US covers, the Jap covers, if I have Euro covers, I'll scan those too. I'll also scan any artwork from artbooks I find, and scan out of magazines. All you have to do is take those images and follow the template and make it pretty. You can make multiple versions as well if you like with all the scans.
My goal for now, is one a week. The average cover should take you about 30-45 mins to make at most. They'll all be matching, and they'll all look nice.
Here's some pics of my current first 4 covers: (I didn’t take pictures of the backs, but they’re pretty much the US versions of the back of the cases cropped)
Let me tell you, they look a lot better in person...
Heres a link to the DVD cases I used in the pictures :

So if you intested in having a book case of that filled with all your favorite Saturn DVDs, the please join the "Sega Saturn Thin-Pak DVD Team!"
Ok everyone, here is the first 10 covers for this project. The project starts November, 4th 2006… and we need 10 people to take these 10 Cover projects to do. Once these 10 covers are done, the 10 team-members can upload the .psd to me. Where I can just make sure it matches the rest of them (Text size, font, coloring issues, print size issues, etc..) and I’ll then add it to “The Collective”. Once these 10 covers are done, I’ll put my 7 covers, with the 10 finished covers by you guys and I’ll upload a .zip of all 17 covers in Extremely High Rez for all the participates.
For all the non-participates, don’t worry, I’ll upload Decently High Rez covers on the Snackbar website a week later.
