The 3DS remake of Nintendo's classic Star Fox 64 barrel rolls into UK stores on 9th September.

That's two days before US gamers get it, but a couple of months after its 17th July Japan date.

The new version of the fondly-remembered 1997 N64 rail shooter adds optional tilt controls, a multiplayer opponent cam and, of course, revamped 3D visuals.

There's not an awful lot on the slate to keep 3DS owners busy until then, other than finish up the phenomenal Ocarina of Time 3D, but Star Fox kicks off a steady flow of top-tier content later this year.

Super Mario 3D, Mario Kart, Kid Icarus: Uprising and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D are all due out before Christmas.
