I had a factory installed 2.6 which I upgraded to 2.71 a while back. Thought this might work for me. Followed the instructions, got the red screen and then it turned off. And that was it!
Wouldn't turn back on again, just got the power light for 30secs then it went off again.

Took PSP back to shop and exchanged for a new one.
I think it's because it was a factory 2.6 FW. Can anyone confirm this?

Did you check if you had the TA-082?
That might have been a problem?
